A very interesting article was posted on www.businessweek.com regarding Dr. Neil Clark Warren taking back the helm at eHarmony.com. He did so by buying back shares from investors, Sequoia Capital and Technology Crossover Ventures who invested heavily back in 2004.

Dr. Warren indicated that he was not happy with the direction the company was going and ousted executives who only had $$$ bottom line in mind. Dr. Warren has already issued lay offs and brought in social psychologists. The timeframe he has given himself is 5 years to turn the company around back to its main focus.

“We didn’t feel that our company had been run the way we would’ve run it,” Warren said.

This should be very good news for people who have been using eHarmony’s services. It may steer the company back to what it does best which is bringing singles together and may other online dating sites follow suite. There is also word that eHarmony plans on starting a job searching site in 2013 with a similar concept.
